Jesse Jackson popularized African American, but that term predated Jackson. Secondly, it’s strange to me that you have a problem with being called an African American because of how long ago your ancestors left Africa (and it’s been a few centuries, not thousands of years), but you are fine with being called a Descendant of Slavery. You’re basically saying that you have no history or identity which predates slavery, which is exactly what the white racists used to tell us to justify enslaving us. So, I am not sure why you reject Africa but embrace slavery.
