Nat Turner and Harriet Tubman were not Westerners. They were Africans who were enslaved within Western society, but again you are trying to erase Africa and center European or Western society. You are even trying to claim that I am a Westerner which erases my connection with Africa. Moreover, to claim that I am a Western is to suggest that everyone who was colonized by a Western nation is a Westerner. That again erases agency on the part of African people by assuming that simply because we were enslaved and colonized by the West that we become Westerners and lose our unique identity and unique culture as African people.

The fact that you were a Pan-Africanist for 2 or 3 years is completely irrelevant here. You also used more emotionally charged language like “ideologically possessed” as if there are no real substantive economic or political reasons for an African to be a Pan-Africanist. “Westerners” are free to develop a European Union or NATO, so I am not sure what your issue is with African people establishing similar international political and economic ties. As I mentioned before, there are Pan-Africanists who are currently fighting slavery in Africa. You may have the privilege of trying Pan-Africanism for 2 or 3 years then giving up on it, but for some of there political realities that we must confront. Whereas you get to talk about slavery in Africa to try to prove some moral point, Pan-Africanists are actually working to resolve that issue.

If any of us seems ideologically possessed is you because all of your arguments seem based on preconceived ideas. You keep avoiding discussing the substance of my article, and instead try to make a lot of personal judgments about my character. You even throw in the “people like you” phrase, which always makes me smile when I see that because you don’t even know me. So, yes you are arguing from a position of ignorance.

But none of this addresses the substance of my atricle. Can you counter or dispute the specific claims that I make in this article? Unlike you, I took the time to mention specific examples to support my argument.
